VIETNAM WAR U S MARINES ENGINEERS U S MARINES

Bravo Company, 7th Engineers, 1st. Marine Division held their first reunion in Washington D.C. on May 25 - 27, 2001. Over 20 people were in attendance and for most, this was the first time we had met in over 30 years. The first day was spent getting reacquainted and polishing war stories and culminated with a visit to the Marine Barracks for the evening parade. Day 2 (Saturday) began much the same with the arrival of additional people but we quickly mobilized with the arrival of the Eckenrode family and despite the weather, accomplished a group visit to the Vietnam Memorial. We really appreciated Joe Maurer (Klaus's son) placing our wreath at the wall and the attendance by Alex and Chris Roman (Luis's sons) to represent the "New Breed". Our thanks to the Embassy Square hotel for providing a meeting room on Saturday evening. This gave us the opportunity to get better acquainted with the Piscar family and friends and show our appreciation for Jerry Jetton's tireless work in making all of this happen. In all it was a highly successful reunion and our thanks to Paul Verner for putting the final touches on the evening by playing  "Taps".
